Hello John Wesley members and friends,

I was reading Genesis 6:5-9 and was struck by the fact that Noah walked with God in spite of all the evil that occurred around him. Modern Christians can learn a lesson from Brother Noah because we, too, can look at our society and point to evil all around us. We must be like Bro. Noah who was clear about what matters most to him – his relationship with our Creator. Noah was unwilling to allow anything he saw, or heard, to keep him from living a righteous life. This Scripture says that Noah was blameless among the people of his time, this was no accident, it was a deliberate decision on Noah’s part. Noah could have done otherwise but he decided to walk faithfully before God, which lead to Noah finding favor with God. I urge you to make the same decision that Noah made knowing that there will be people in your life who will ridicule you because you live a life that they consider boring or provincial as you abstain from all manner of evil in the many arenas of your life. The reward you receive from The Creator for your faithful walk is absolutely worth some people’s laughter or distain.

Blessings,
